Prior to the event, Cowboy was riding an amazing eight-fight winning streak and was hoping to bring that coveted golden strap home with him for his terminally ill grandmother, who suffers from pulmonary hypertension.
The UFC released a touching video of Cerrone explaining why his grandmother was his inspiration for his title fight last week.
Cerrone’s first post since the loss was a photo to Instagram, of his grandmother and himself hugging with beaming smiles.
He opted to upload it without a caption as it really says it all.
