Origi saw his spot kick saved towards the end of Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday night and while the failure to score a second mattered little to the result, it made the final few minutes unnecessarily anxious for Reds supporters.
Presented with a gilt-edged opportunity to put breathing space between themselves and their League Two opposition and force the game beyond Plymouth, Origi couldn't convert.
The Reds striker committed to an unconvincing short run-up and the lack of power, coupled with the failure to send it anywhere near the corner, allowed goalkeeper Luke McCormick to save with little difficulty.
