Diego Maradona to undergo surgery after scan reveals bleed on brain

Diego Maradona will have to undergo emergency surgery after a scan revealed a bleed on his brain, Argentine media are reporting. The footballing icon was admitted to hospital in the Argentine city of La Plata last night just days after his 60th birthday. Maradona's doctor provided an update earlier on Tuesday, saying "He's better than yesterday, the idea is for him to stay [in hospital] one more day. He's anemic and a little dehydrated." But new reports claim doctors have discovered a subdural hematoma which requires emergency surgery, which will take place immediately.
