Before it kicked off at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon (the football, that is), West Ham's joint chairman David Gold went out of his way to wish the players the best of luck ahead of their match with Stoke City.

After a busy couple of weeks comparing the club's stadium dilemma to the moon landings and moaning about daylight saving time a video shared by the club's official Twitter account showed Gold shaking hands with several of them as they made their way on to the field of play for the warmup. After a brief handshake and pat on the back for Dimitri Payet, Gold could be heard wishing Andre Ayew well for the match ahead.
