Gurney admitted to overreacting to the incident

Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price have agreed to bury the hatchet after their post-match skirmish on Thursday night.

After Gurney secured a 7-7 draw with the divisive Welshman on the Premier League’s Sheffield show, he seemingly took umbrage with something that Price had been doing throughout the match.

Gurney aggressively confronted Price, who is no stranger to scuffles, and the altercation forced the match referee and security to intervene.

While Price revealed in his post-match interview that Gurney had accused him of talking in an attempt to throw him off his game, commentator Wayne Mardle admitted that he couldn’t see any gamesmanship from Price and noted that “Daryl Gurney was definitely the aggressor then.”

Now that the dust has settled, Gurney reached out to ‘The Iceman’ to apologise for his behaviour.

Price, who must be on his best behaviour after his antics in the Grand Slam of Darts final with Gary Anderson, accepted Gurney’s apology and the pair have agreed to put their issues behind them.

“Life’s too short to have enemies and hold grudges,” Price said.

The result of Thursday’s fiery encounter leaves both Gurney and Price with an uphill task if they are to finish in the Premier League’s top four.

Gurney finds himself in fifth spot, while Price is a point behind in sixth.

Gurney will play Michael Smith in Night 16 in Leeds next week and Price will meet Peter Wright on the oche.
