Darren Till has broken noses, cheekbones and wrists in his UFC 228 training camp

BREAKING: Darren Till hits hard

In case you didn’t already know, Darren Till hits very hard.

Till has not taken any prisoners in his training camp for his first shot at UFC gold and all signs point to perfect preparation for the Liverpool welterweight.

The undefeated Till will take on 170lbs champion Tyron Woodley in the main event of UFC 228 this weekend and while the build-up to one of the most fascinating match-ups of the year has focused on the Scouser’s weight, it sounds like Till has been more preoccupied with honing his power.

Till has spent the majority of his camp at the UFC’s Performance Institute in Las Vegas but made his way to Texas earlier this week ahead of the biggest fight of his life.

Woodley has claimed that Till’s only chance of walking out of the American Airlines Centre with the welterweight belt hinges on his ability to knock the defending champion out.

And we wouldn’t bet against it judging by the reports from Till’s camp.

Speaking to the BBC, Till’s main training partner Mike Grundy has revealed that ‘The Gorilla’ has broken some noses in sparring ahead of Saturday’s main event.

“There’s been a few casualties within the camp, definitely,” head coach Colin Heron confirmed.

“He’s managed to break my wrist and dislocate my finger just on the pads.

“A few of the guys have got broken noses and there are a few broken cheekbones but it’s a normal camp.”

At the time of writing, Till had yet to hit the scales in Dallas but reports suggest that the undefeated Brit will have no problems making weight.
