There is no shortage of offers from fighters who want to play a role in the landmark UFC 200 event, with both Alexander Gustafsson and new middleweight champion Michael Bisping throwing their hats in the ring.
In spite of the offer, White maintained that Bisping is not being considered for the fight.
"Bisping just won the 185 lbs title," White said. "And, let me tell you what Bisping does in his off-season. When Bisping is not training, Bisping goes on a bender. He's in no condition to fight Daniel Cormier, I'll tell you that."
But White remained confident on getting a deal done with one of the eager applicants, insisting that "Cormier will fight this weekend."
Jones apologised to Cormier and his fans on Thursday but this is the latest in a litany of controversies in which the former long-time light heavyweight king has been embroiled.
"It's crazy," White added. "This guy might be the greatest talent that this sport has ever seen, but he cannot get it together."
