His dad is not so sure…
Cristiano Ronaldo is not short of confidence. He fully – mistakenly – believes that he is the best player in the world. That arrogance has been a necessary component of his rise to the very top of the sport, and he appears to have passed on that personality trait to his son, Cristiano Junior.
He previously said that his son is “very competitive, he is like me when I was young and he does not like to lose”, in an interview with DAZN.
The 10-year-old believes he can become a better footballer than his father, but the Juventus and Portugal forward is not so sure.
“I hope that Cris, my son, can be like his dad. He says he is going to be better (than me), but I think it’s difficult,” Ronaldo told Bein Sports.
“I am very happy to have scored, for him too. He is playing for Juventus and adapting really well, it has been easier for him than for me.”
Cristiano Jr recently joined the Juventus youth set-up following his father’s move to the Serie A giants and scored on his debut for the U11s, while his dad had to wait until the weekend just gone to net his first goal in in black and white.
Ronaldo has confirmed that he will resist being a pushy parent, and that his son will make his own decision about whether he follows in his father’s footsteps and becomes a professional footballer.
