It was a nightmare start for England in day one of the Ashes
This winter's much anticipated Ashes series got off to the worst possible start for England as they were bowled out for just 147 on day one of the first Test in the early hours of Wednesday morning (UK Time).
It was party mode straight from the first ball for the Australians in Brisbane as Rory Burns fell victim to Mitchell Starc's delivery.

David Malan, captain Joe Root and Ben Stokes were all quickly reduced as well, as England fell to 29-4 inside 13 overs with the rest of the day not looking much more positive, leaving England with a tall order already to avoid defeat in the first test.
Whilst the likes of Shane Warne looked to praise Australia's impressive bowling performance - which saw first-time captain Pat Cummins take five wickets, others wanted to pile on the misery of England supporters, including the Queensland Police.
They provided several updates throughout the night on their Twitter account, starting the jokes before the Test had even begun with the tweet: "A large crowd for the first test so plan your Cummins and goings. We’d be Lyon if we said there’ll be nothing but Green lights near the Gabba. Don’t say we didn’t Warner #Ashes."
However as England's batting performance got more embarrassing, the easier it was for the police force to make a mockery of the side as they piled on the banter.
At the end of the first day's play, which was cut short due to inclement weather, they then sent out a tweet announcing they were 'launching an investigation' to find a 'group impersonating a test batting' side.

Day two of the test is set to get underway tonight (Wednesday into Thursday) with coverage live on BT Sport as England looked to rectify yesterday's disappointing start.
