Court date set for Leicester fan charged with assaulting Nottingham Forest players

A man has been charged after police said three Nottingham Forest players were assaulted during their 4-1 FA Cup victory over Leicester City at the weekend. He was banned for life by Leicester and arrested following the indent at the City Ground, with the assault occurring after Forest captain Joe Worrall had scored to give the home side a 3-0 lead. As the celebrations continued, a Leicester fan ran on to the pitch and appeared to throw several punches at the group of players. Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that Mr Toner had been released on conditional bail, which includes a condition that he does not attend any football stadium on the date of any live football game.
Steve Cooper's side ran into a 3-0 lead with first-half goals from Philip Zinckernagel, Brennan Johnson and Worrall, before Kelechi Iheanacho pulled a goal back before the break. However, a second-half strike from Djed Spence secured a 4-1 victory for the Championship side.
