Charlie Ward has joined the promotion.

The Irishman has signed for UFC and will make his debut at UFC Fight Night in Albany, New York on December 9.

Ward comes with an exciting reputation having won his last three professional bouts to take his MMA record to 3-1. His only loss as a pro came on his debut to former BAMMA middleweight champion John Phillips.

Randy Brown will be the SBG fighter’s first opponent in the UFC with the pair set for a welterweight bout. Brown’s record stands at 2-1 in the UFC.

“Queens’ Randy Brown will be pitted against Ireland’s Charlie Ward in welterweight action,” the UFC confirmed.

Ward is another product of the reputable SBG and has been trained by John Kavanagh too.

The Irishman fought the late Joao Carvalho back in April in Dublin and won by TKO but, unfortunately, the Portugal native’s condition worsened after the fight and he passed away in the days that followed.

Ward saw off Gareth Williams in June and has since beaten Ion Pascu at BAMMA  26.
