Conor McGregor has turned himself into police custody in New York.
A chaotic night extended to a chaotic morning for the UFC as the organisation’s most celebrated star Conor McGregor began his Friday being questioned by Brooklyn police.
The authorities had wanted to speak with the Crumlin native after his Thursday night rampage at the UFC 223 card media night.
This came after videos gained traction online of McGregor and an entourage of 30 or so people storming the backstage area of the Barclays Centre, where they went onto cause a disturbance.
Conor McGregor was taken into custody and officially arrested at 10:23 pm ET. Multiple charges pending. He is currently at the 78th precinct in Brooklyn.

Rails and trash cans were hoisted and launched by McGregor and his crew in the direction of a bus containing fighters penned for the Saturday night card, where the new UFC lightweight champion will be crowned.
Some of the athletes on board sustained injuries on the back of the explosive outburst. American Michael Chiesa was cut by some of the shattered glass and he was subsequently stood down from his fight with Anthony Pettis.

Chiesa wasn’t the only victim. Ray Borg has been forced out of his bout with Brandon Moreno because of multiple corneal abrasions, with three fights in total being pulled from the card.
McGregor arrived at the police station at 9pm local time on Thursday, on his own accord, reportedly.
The New York Police Department told BBC Sport McGregor will see a judge at 12pm (UK time) on Friday, with various assault charges pending.
