Not a doubt in his mind.

“I’m going down in the history books Conan, that’s the only going down I am.”

With little over a week to go until one of the most hyped fights in the history of combat sports, we’ll soon learn whether it will be Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather who can back up the claims they’ve been making ahead of their bout in Las Vegas on August 26.

Both parties have been keen to express confidence in their ability to come out on top and Conor McGregor was once again full of bravado about his prospects on one of the biggest talk shows in the United States on Wednesday night.

Having previously expressed his desire to fight Floyd Mayweather in studio in a previous appearance on the Conan O’Brien show, McGregor assured the host that he will be “going down in the history books” following his meeting with the undefeated Mayweather on Saturday week.

Not only does McGregor think he’ll beat him, the man known as ‘Mystic Mac’ says he’s going to do it inside four rounds.

The Notorious also spoke of adjustments in his training regime to cope with a 12-round fight, a perceived advantage over Mayweather in terms of pace and his desire to “go straightforward and put him (Mayweather) away” rather than dancing around the ring in Las Vegas.

The bookies seem to think there will only be one winner, but do you give McGregor a chance?
