This basically looks like a playable version of Saving Private Ryan.
Having spent the majority of the last decade getting involved in Modern Warfare, Black Ops, Advanced Warfare and the future-set Infinite Warfare, Activision are taking their hugely popular blockbuster games back to basics.
This will be the 14th Call of Duty game in the series, and represents the first time that the franchise has primarily taken place in World War II since 2008's Call of Duty: World at War.
The campaign is centred around a squad in the 1st Infantry Division, and follows their battles in the Western Front, while the multiplayer expands on different fronts not seen in the campaign.
Featuring an all-star cast including Josh Duhamel (Transformers), Elodie Yung (Daredevil), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) and Udo Kier (Blade), it puts the player right in the middle of the action, with the story mode trailer below showing off a rescue mission that will send the division across enemy-held bases in search of one of their team.
The game arrives on PS4, Xbox One and PC on Friday 3 November.
