In case you didn’t know – and if you didn’t, you clearly don’t have kids – Thursday was World Book Day. It’s a wonderful initiative that encourages people of all ages to read more and share their favourite tomes. It also rivals Halloween for the hassle of dressing your children up as their favourite characters for school.
To celebrate the fact, Chelsea TV decided to challenge Ladies team midfielder Katie Chapman and Mens side reserve goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to a picture round of guessing the kids’ books based on an illustration. Easy, right? Well it’s obviously harder than you think. Or else Katie and Asmir are especially bad guessers.
What do you think is the easiest one they could have got? They most popular and recognisable children’s book character in the whole world? Of course it’s Harry Potter. And especially when the clue was this particular cover of the original publication. We mean, it’s iconic. Everyone is familiar with it – it’s part of modern culture.
Well not if your name is Asmir Begovic.
Startlingly, and despite the fact it actually shows Harry Potter – with his famous scar – in front of a train saying ‘HOGWARTS EXPRESS’ on it FFS, the Bosnian international didn’t have a clue. After a careful look at the image, he was about to say Thomas the fucking Tank Engine, before plumping for the equally ridiculous ‘Polar Express’.
Chapman eventually put him out of his misery with the correct answer. His complaint that he’d been given all ‘girls books’ to guess was a pathetic excuse. Get in the sea, man…
