The Blues pulled out of a last minute deal with one company

Chelsea will officially unveil their new home shirt on Monday however it won’t feature a sponsor after pulling out of a deal at the eleventh hour.

The Daily Mail revealed earlier in the week that the two-time European champions had expected to sign a shirt sponsor deal with Paramount+, only to have the offer rejected by the Premier League.

Reports claim that the league turned down the deal after becoming wary of upsetting TV rights holders. Paramount+ are not one of the international streaming services and as part of the Deed of License contract, would not be permitted.

They also pulled out of a deal with gambling company Stake after the Chelsea hierarchy rejected their approach.

Fan groups criticised the potential partnership with Stake ahead of a ban that will no longer allow betting firms to take the front of shirt sponsorship.

Talks are still underway with prospective partners but in order to prevent any further delay, Chelsea have decided to release their Nike-manufactured kit without a sponsor for now.

Supporters will be able to pre-order a shirt which is set to be available close to or shortly after the start of the new season.

Other options such as Allianz have also been rumoured to become a sponsor.

Allianz want to add Stamford Bridge to their list of grounds they have deals with. They already sponsor two of the biggest clubs in Europe, Bayern Munich and Juventus. As part of the deal, they would reportedly want to rename the stadium to the Allianz Stadium.
