Chelsea linked with shock move for former Manchester United star Van Persie

There can’t be too many players who have turned out for Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, but Robin van Persie could soon become one of them.

If reports are to be believed, the Dutchman is already prepared to cut short his spell in Turkey to team up with former international boss Guus Hiddink.

According to the Daily Express, the Blues will bid for Van Persie if they fail to complete a proposed loan move for Brazilian frontman Alexandre Pato.

A former Premier League title winner with United, Van Persie left Old Trafford for Fenerbahce in the summer and has scored seven goals in 23 appearances for the Turkish club.

But there have been signs of unrest, and the 32-year-old could be tempted if a potential return to England is put on the table.
