Chelsea legend Hasselbaink set to return to West London

Two clubs in the hunt

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was a hero of Chelsea’s pre-Roman Abramovich era.

The Dutch striker scored for the Blues at a rate of a goal every other game in the early 2000s, and his impressive work as manager of Burton Albion has seen him talked of as a potential future coach of the London side.

That seems like more of a long-term ambition, but the 43-year-old could be handed a chance to audition for the role by moving to a club within spitting distance of Stamford Bridge.

Fellow West London clubs QPR and Fulham are both on the lookout for a new manager, having parted ways with Chris Ramsey and Kit Symons respectively.

And according to The Times, both of the Championship clubs are keen to talk to Hasselbaink about their vacancies.

Hasselbaink led Burton Albion to the League 2 title last season and currently has them flying high in the second tier.
