Chelsea are leading the race to sign Robert Lewandowski in the summer

He has been flirting with several clubs

He’s angling for a move

Robert Lewandowski has dominated the Bundesliga for years. Firstly at Borussia Dortmund and then at Bayern Munich, he has been the best forward in the German league more than half a decade. But he fancies a change of scenery, according to Neil Ashton in The Sun.

He has won everything he possibly can in Germany, except the Champions League. He came close in his final season with Dortmund, when they met Bayern in the 2013 final at Wembley, but Arjen Robben’s late winner secured the win for Bayern.

It doesn’t seem like Lewandowski’s Champions League dream will come true while he stays at Bayern Munich, and the Poland international is angling for a move away. He has signed with super-agent Pini Zahavi in order help him get this move, which will likely take him to England.

Lewandowski has reportedly been ‘flirting’ with Premier League clubs, and Chelsea are leading the race to sign him. Manchester United, City and Liverpool are all known admirers of the striker, and there could be a chance for Lewandowski to reunite with either of his former coaches: Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.

Chelsea will be more desperate for his signature, though. Olivier Giroud arrived in January, but he will surely remain a plan B. While Álvaro Morata started the season well, his form has taken a dip and he has shown that when his confidence isn’t high, he shies away from chances. Conte’s decision to leave them both out for Tuesday’s game against Barcelona hinted that he would like an upgrade in the summer – if he stays.

Wherever he goes, Lewandowski will be a great addition to the Premier League.
