Charlie Austin could be in disciplinary trouble following an incident in Saturday’s Premier League match between Southampton and Huddersfield Town. Austin scored for the Saints in the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s, his fifth goal in his last seven league games, but was arguably fortunate to remain on the pitch a few minutes after that first-half strike.

The former QPR striker failed to reach a through ball, and appeared to leave his right boot in on Jonas Lössl, the Huddersfield goalkeeper who had claimed the ball before Austin reached him.

Lössl was left with a nasty cut to his nose and needed stitches, but played on for the rest of the game. Austin wasn’t even shown a yellow card, and protested his innocence.
