There are incredible riches on offer in Chinese football, with a number of high profile players and managers joining the league, but it appears Rodgers' is holding out for a Premier League job.
However, if that doesn't materialise, Rodgers in China would be worthy of another "Being Liverpool" style behind-the-scenes documentary.
The 43-year-old can can quote Latin sayings, is fluent in Spanish and would surely attempt to learn Mandarin.
We'd love to hear Rodgers recount some of his famous sayings for a Chinese audience.
"I've always said that you can live without water for many days, but you can’t live for a second without hope." "I will leave no stone unturned in my quest – and that quest will be relentless." "I use a quote with the players,'Per aspera ad astra', which is Latin for 'through adversity to the stars'."
