Brendan Rodgers reveals he has turned down offers to return to management

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted he's turned down "a couple of offers" to return to management, but wants to wait until the end of the season before making his return.

The former Reds boss has been out of work since October, but feels he will be ready to make a comeback in the summer.

"I wanted to wait until the summer...to reflect on the last three-and-a-half years," he told Gary Lineker during the BBC's FA Cup coverage. "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Liverpool...hopefully in the summer I get the chance to get back in [to management] again."

Rodgers admitted he had been approached by clubs overseas, and is not ruling out a move to a club outside the Premier League. With Manchester City confirming Pep Guardiola's impending arrival and Manchester United preparing to welcome Jose Mourinho, Rodgers would have slim pickings if he wants a top job in the Premier League (not that either of those clubs would necessarily have been interested). But Rodgers' stock is still relatively high after Liverpool's second-place finish in the 2013/14 season, and Rodgers - when questioned about opportunities abroad, said "I'm open to travel."
