If he's not talking about 'character' or calling Joe Allen the 'Welsh Xavi', he's amusing us with his unique Brendan Rodgers logic. Liverpool drew 1-1 away to Bordeaux on Thursday night in their Europa League opener. No disgrace in that at all. Adam Lallana scored a very fine goal, but moments later Danny Ings failed to convert an effort that the goalkeeper saved at close range.
