Bournemouth hit out at the FA following the 5-game ban for Tyrone Mings

"Absolutely no evidence to prove the incident was intentional."

“Absolutely no evidence to prove the incident was intentional.”

Bournemouth are “extremely disappointed” with the FA after they charged defender Tyrone Mings with violent conduct following an incident with Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

The decision now means that Mings has been given a 5-game ban and the club have responded with an official statement.

The Cherries will study the “detailed reasons of the commission” but have stated that they find it “extraordinary that the charges can be described as ‘proven’ when there is absolutely no evidence to prove the incident was intentional.”

The statement goes on to stress the “background and character” of Mings while highlighting his impressive disciplinary record.

The club also stressed their belief that the collision was accidental and that their player has already apologised to Ibrahimovic.

Here’s their statement in full.
