Bookies suspend betting on Antonio Conte getting sacked by Chelsea

Is it all over already?

A bookmaker has suspended betting on Chelsea boss Antonio Conte getting the sack – despite the Italian being in the job for less than four months.

Betway revealed they have taken a lot of bets on the former Italy boss getting the boot from Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Our traders are on red alert after a flurry of telling bets on Antonio Conte being the next Premier League manager to leave their post were placed this afternoon.

“We’ve now suspended betting on Conte getting the sack.”

The 47-year-old only took charge at Stamford Bridge in the summer and have overseen just nine games since he joined the club.

He was brought in as a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho, who was sacked last December after Chelsea suffered an alarming slump after winning the title.

Conte took over after Euro 2016 where his Italy side lost to Germany on penalties in the quarter finals.

It would be an extraordinary move to sack yet another manager after such a short tenure, but owner Roman Abramovich is known to have little patience, and former Blues bosses Luis Felipe Scolari and Andre Villas-Boas both lasted less than a season in charge.

Chelsea have so far made no comment.
