Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni has learned his fate after alleged racist abuse towards Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr.
The decision by Uefa was announced today (Monday 23 February) ahead of Benfica's second leg Champions League play-off match against Real Madrid.
Following an initially investigation, the European governing body has decided to suspend the Argentine winger provisionally for one match as the investigation continues.
Uefa said that further punishment could follow after the investigation is completed.
The ban means Prestianni will be illegible to compete in the upcoming match against Real Madrid on Wednesday at 8pm.
Vinicius told referee Francois Letexier that he had been racially abused by the Argentina winger during the first leg of their Champions League knockout play-off tie in Lisbon last Tuesday.
