Ben Stokes and Alex Hales have both been charged by the England and Wales Cricket Board for bringing the game into disrepute.

The pair were involved in an incident outside a Bristol nightclub in September 2017. Stokes subsequently faced a trial but was cleared of affray.

Hales did not face any legal charges for his part in the incident.

The ECB, however, have decided to charge both players for bringing the game into disrepute.

The independent Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) hearing will be held on 5 and 7 December. The hearing will take place between England’s winter tours to Sri Lanka and West Indies.

England will play three Tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international in Sri Lanka in October and November.
