What is the worst penalty you’ve ever seen?
Some that spring to mind for me are John Terry against Manchester United, David Beckham against Portugal and that time when Thierry Henry and Robert Pires tried to be clever against Manchester City and it backfired spectacularly.
This penalty is worse then all of them.
In an FA Cup tie between Aylesbury United and Moneyfields that ended 2-2, a total of nine penalties were missed, two in normal time and seven in a shootout. That’s a lot of bad penalties. But this one, in normal time, was the worst of the lot.
When penalties are missed in high profile Champions League or Premier League ties, Twitter users come out in their droves joking that the ball has just landed in their back garden, or that it’s floating around space, or whatever.
But this one actually looks like it genuinely floats away into space and disappears. Look at it go!
A feast of penalties tonight in the FA Cup tie I was at.
Four penalties in the 90 mins, one scored by each side & a further two missed by Aylesbury United.

You’ve got to have some sympathy for the penalty taker, Ollie Hogg, who had buried one a few minutes before. Everyone makes mistakes on the football field, but at that level they are not usually immortalised on social media.
Unluckily for this guy, it’s there in vibrant colour video for us all to see. Sorry, mate, but it’s really really funny.
