BBC billing for FA Cup match manages to piss off entirety of Sheffield
They've had an absolute Weston
If there's one thing football fans hate, it's feeling like they are not respected by those at the top. There are many ways of offending fans in this way, one of the most effective being to refer to a team from a two-club city as just the name of the city.
Can you imagine the fume if either Manchester United of Manchester City were listed as 'Manchester' on a TV billing? It would be insane. And justified.
Well, we're pretty much at that point right now, after the BBC listed Sunday's FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday as 'Chelsea vs Sheffield', suggesting that it could be against Sheffield United
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
Some took it as pro-London bias, while others consider is mistreatment of teams from the lower leagues.

The BBC advertising tomorrow’s Cup tie between Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday as Chelsea v Sheffield. That’s just offensive. pic.twitter.com/dvXCBPdXoD

Whatever the reason behind the gaffe, anger among fans is understandable and definitely the sort of thing that would not happen if it were in reference to a Premier League side.
