Bayern Munich will reportedly turn down the chance to make João Cancelo's loan move from Manchester City permanent in the summer.
Cancelo made the move to Bavaria in the January transfer window after growing frustrated at the lack of playing time with the Premier League champions, however his fortunes haven't improved.
Despite starting off his Bayern career with two assists in his first two games, the Portugal international has fallen further behind in the pecking order.
The full back is likely to start on the bench for Bayern's Champions League last 16 second leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
Nagelsmann first dropped the defender after his side's defeat to Borussia Möchengladbach and was an unused sub against Stuttgart.
Despite several injuries in the full back department, the Bayern boss has opted to use Croatian defender Josip Stanišić instead, which has left Cancelo 'frustrated'.
Italian outlet Calciomercato have even reported that Nagelsmann has made the decision not to activate the £62m clause to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena permanently.
They added that if he doesn't stay in Germany then one of Chelsea or Real Madrid may be a viable destination for the 28-year-old should he leave Man City in the summer.
Shortly after leaving the Etihad Stadium, City boss Pep Guardiola went on to confirm that his departure from the club was not because of a falling out between the pair.
"He left because he always wants to play all the games," Guardiola explained.
"I wish him to do it in Germany for the next four months and then I don't know what will happen next season."
