Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 to win La Liga title

Barcelona have been crowned La Liga champions for the second time in three years after beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon.
Atletico managed a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou on the final day of last season to win the title, but this time Lionel Messi's second-half strike proved the difference between the two teams to gain glory for Barça. Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick helped Real Madrid to a 4-1 win at Espanyol, but it was too little, too late for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
