Aston Villa are in talks to sign a Borussia Dortmund star as per reports from David Ornstein at The Athletic.
Villa have reportedly made an offer for Donyell Malen worth around €18million (£14.9m) and add-ons.
However, this offer for the 25-year-old fails short of the German club's estimation of the player, but negotiations continue.
The Villans are looking to strengthen the depth of their squad with a player capable of playing across the front line, a requirement which puts the Dutch forward high on the club's January wish list.
Malen has started just six of Dortmund's 15 Bundesliga games this season, scoring five goals in all competitions.
The forward also made four appearances for the Netherlands during Euro 2024.
The Dutchman has 39 goals and 20 assists in 131 games for Dortmund and 9 goals in 41 games for his country.
