Arsenal could be ready to welcome Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky back to first team action very soon, with the midfield pair returning for the under-21s.
Wilshere managed 65 minutes of the 3-1 victory over Newcastle United’s young guns, while Rosicky was withdrawn at half-time in his first appearance since suffering a thigh injury in the FA Cup clash with Burnley.
It could potentially be a huge boost for the Gunners, who go into this weekend’s trip to West Ham with a chance to close to within eight points of league leaders Leicester City.
And England manager Roy Hodgson will be pleased with the development too, having received the news earlier on Friday that Wilshere’s international team-mate Jordan Henderson is a doubt for Euro 2016.

Goals from Dan Crowley, Stephy Mavididi and Serge Gnabry clinched victory for the Londoners, but Wilshere’s return was the main story.
The 24-year-old has been out of action since suffering a broken leg just days before the start of the Premier League season, but could now be in contention to return to Premier League action before the season is out.
Wilshere last completed 90 minutes in an Arsenal shirt way back in September 2014, having missed several months of the last campaign.
But with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla still sidelined, the return of the England man – and Czech international Rosicky – could not have come at a better time.
