Unai Emery wants to refresh the midfield

Arsenal’s midfield has been an issue for years. You’re probably bored of hearing about it. But you better get ready to hear even more about it this summer, as Unai Emery is looking to inject some much needed quality into it.

Emery”s first objective is to sign Bayern Munich playmaker Corentin Tolisso, according to CalcioInsiderArsenal are reportedly lining up a €60m bid for the player. The France international only joined Bayern from Lyon last summer for a club record fee of €41m, and Bayern have no intention of letting him move on so soon.

He will be very difficult to acquire, but as we know money talks and Arsenal are not short of funds.

Aaron Ramsey, meanwhile, is set to be offered a new long-term contract, while Jack Wilshere is out of contract and may leave the club on a free. Crystal Palace are one of several clubs to have been loosely linked with Wilshere, and Eagles boss Roy Hodgson was a big fan of Wilshere during his time in charge of Crystal Palace.

With Wilshere on his way out and Ramsey’s future uncertain, it is essential that Arsenal bring in a player of Tolisso’s quality to complement the likes of Mesut Özil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in attack.
