A man has been arrested in connection with the coin-throwing incident during West Bromwich Albion's FA Cup defeat against Reading.
Albion's Chris Brunt was struck by a coin thrown from the end where his own team's fans were sat, as he tried to give his shirt to a supporter following the 3-1 defeat.
A statement from Thames Valley Police confirms the arrest was made as a result of a joint operation with Hampshire Police.
West Brom have already promised to impose their own sanctions on the perpetrator, while a charity coin collection has also been planned in solidarity with the Northern Irishman.
Team-mates Ben Foster and James McClean have both spoken out criticising the so-called fan who performed the act.
