Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed the news that one of his first team players will not return from injury in time for the Reds' clash with Man City on Sunday.
The Reds are already without a number of stars including Giovanni Leoni, Alexander Isak, and Conor Bradley, making this latest update even more disappointing for supporters.
Liverpool go into the clash well aware that anything less than a win over Pep Guardiola's side, will mean they're likely to lose ground in their battle to secure a Champions League qualification spot.
Adding significance has been added to the clash this week, following reports in the BBC that Man City's iconic manager could leave the Etihad at the end of this season, making Sunday's clash his last ever visit to Anfield.
As a result, Slot's side will be very keen to record one last victory over their famous rival.
They will have to do so without a key defensive talent, as confirmed by Slot today.

Speaking to press ahead of the fixture, Slot said: "Jeremie [Frimpong] will definitely not train this week so he's not available for the weekend."
The Dutch fullback sustained a hip injury during the 3-2 loss to Bournemouth at the end of January, and has been missing from the side since.
There had been some hopes that Frimpong may return in time for the Man City game, but these have now been eliminated.
