Antonio Conte pulls up John Terry for eating too many biscuits

Terry has finally noticed the comment from his old boss

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea days are long behind him, but that’s not to say he isn’t still keeping a close watch on what his former players are eating.

Having arrived at Tottenham earlier this month, the 52-year-old has quickly imposed a ketchup ban on his players as part of his strict dietary rules.

But Conte isn’t stopping there, as John Terry has recently discovered on Instagram…

The former Chelsea captain shared a relatively bland Instagram post on Sunday, telling his followers that he’d been for a 5k run, done a bit of reading and was about to eat a couple of biscuits.

His old boss replied, pointing out that two biscuits were one too many. The laughing face emoji suggests it was just a joke, but with Conte, you’re never quite sure.

The comment went unnoticed by Terry until Thursday night, when he acknowledged it in another Instagram post.

“Still getting told off by the Boss @antonioconte,” Terry wrote. “I was the fittest & in the best shape of my career playing under Antonio.”

Conte spent two seasons as Chelsea manager between 2016 and 2018. He led the club to the Premier League title in his debut season at Stamford Bridge – which proved to be Terry’s last campaign with the club – then won the FA Cup in his final campaign.

The Italian will oversee his first home league game as Spurs boss this weekend as Leeds United visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They remain ninth in the Premier League table, having drawn 0-0 with Everton in his first domestic game in charge.
