Antoine Griezmann’s Football Manager revelation will come as a blow to Chelsea fans

Now it makes sense

In case you weren’t aware by now, Antoine Griezmann is good at football.

Because of this, his name will be linked with a move from Atletico Madrid to a number of different clubs across the continent in the weeks ahead. It’s the was transfer silly season works.

Earlier in the week we told you how, laughably, some Chelsea supporters were getting excited at the prospect of the Frenchman heading to Stamford Bridge in the close season – because he was spotted looking at Chelsea’s page on Football Manager.

It was one of the more ridiculous transfer stories of the summer so far, but nevertheless, Griezmann has decided it’s best to explain his Football Manager playing preferences before the rumours gather any more momentum.

Ah, now it all makes sense. He was simply looking to enhance his Lyon side’s striking options.

That’s the end of that one then. Maybe Griezmann can get back to trying to win the European Championships for his country now then.

The 25-year-old scored the first of two late goals for the hosts as they beat a resilient Albania side in Marseille last week, guaranteeing their spot in the last 16 of the competition. Didier Deschamps is expected to name a weakened side for their remaining group match against Switzerland.
