Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev could be called off

Paul Moore

The Bulgarian has reportedly picked up an injury in training.

Anthony Joshua’s world title defence next week could be off after a reported injury to his opponent Kubrat Pulev.

Pulev is currently training at a sparring camp in Germany and it’s claimed that he has damaged muscles in his right shoulder.

78,000 people are expected to be in Cardiff next week but reports in Bulgaria state that Pulev actually suffered the shoulder injury on October 6th but since then, things have deteriorated to the point where he might have to withdraw from the Cardiff fight.

With just 12 days to go before the bout, Eddie Hearne may have to decide whether or not he wants to draft in a replacement for the IBF mandatory challenger.
