Anthony Joshua shows off win at huge odd on Dillian Whyte’s victory last night

A brilliant prediction

Reuben Pinder

He clearly had a hunch

Dillian Whyte’s brutal knockout of Lucas Browne came as a surprise to some people, who had given Lucas Browne the power advantage ahead of Saturday nigh’s clash.

But Anthony Joshua had a feeling that Whyte would knock Browne out in the sixth round, as he put £25 on that specific outcome, at huge odds of 25/1, returning £650 including the original stake.

That might be seen as pocket change for AJ, but it’s still a very satisfying win that most of us would be thrilled with.

Joshua revealed his winnings to the world via the medium of his Instagram story.

As for the fight itself, Browne had never tasted defeat in his career before this weekend but he came up short against the defending WBC Silver heavyweight champion.

The left side of Browne’s face was left streaming with blood from the early stages and the scar tissue was ripped up even more as the fight progressed.

‘The Body Snatcher’ sensed that the stoppage was on and let fly with a thunderous left hook that spun Browne around and forced him to faceplant in the centre of the ring.

The raucous celebrations at the O2 Arena were immediately muted when concerns were raised over Browne, who was out cold before he hit the mat.

Browne was taken away by paramedics on a stretcher.
