Anderson Lopes scores four, plummets into abyss during goal celebration

Kyle Picknell

Always be aware of the architectural layout of the stadium before you celebrate your goals, kids

You may never have heard of Anthony Lopes before, the new star striker for J-League side Consadole Sapporo. Yes I did know that without Googling it. Fuck off, I did. Honest.

Anyway, whilst celebrating his fourth of the evening during a 5-2 thrashing of Shimizu S-Pulse (god I love the J-League), Lopes took the rather bold decision to leap the advertising hoardings.

What he didn’t know was that there was a three metre drop down the other side. Fortunately, he was able to hobble away afterwards without serious injury, before eventually being substituted off for the eternal Jay Bothroyd (9 goals in 21 appearances last season thank you very much).

Did I mention I loved the J-League?
