Alexander Isak has reached a verbal agreement in principle with Liverpool over a contract running until 2031, as per the reliable Florian Plettenberg of Sky.
The league champions are 'in contact' with Newcastle United over a potential move, as the player has not joined up with the squad for pre-season.
Isak, one of the league's most prolific strikers, wants to make the move as early as possible this window.
The Swedish international enjoyed an exceptional season last term, both in the league and domestic cups.
In the Premier League, he bagged an impressive 23 times, whilst also scoring in the Carabao Cup final to defeat his now-suitors.
On Tuesday morning, Eddie Howe issued an update on the attacker's absence to the press:
"We do control what’s next for him and we’ve received no normal offer yet.
"My wish has always been that he stays and we him play again next year, but that's not in my full control."
