A ticket for this weekend’s Play-off final has reportedly sold for an eye-watering amount

A staggering amount

The domestic football season will be done and dusted following this weekend’s play-off finals at Wembley.

Saturday’s meeting between Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City will see one of the Yorkshire sides return to the Premier League and as you can probably imagine, there’s quite a demand for tickets.

Such is the demand, that a ticket for the match has reportedly been sold for a whopping £65,900.

According to the Sheffield Star, the ticket sold on Ebay having received nearly 70 bids. The bidding started at a much more reasonable £100 and rapidly escalated before the auction ended on Wednesday evening.

The seller of the ticket, , who has no other items for sale,  is based in Windemere in the Lake District and also asks for a further £8 for postage (we’re sure whoever’s bought the ticket probably has enough cash to cover that).

It’s not clear if the buyer will actually stump up the amount of money they put down for the ticket. If they do, let’s hope for their sake that their team wins.
