A lot of fans are suspicious of Ronda Rousey’s social media activity

All may not be as it seems

Ronda Rousey’s followers think that there’s more than meets the eye in relation to her recent social media activity.

Prior to Thursday, Rousey had tweeted just once since the turn of the year but, all week, she’s been tweeting about being in Colombia for the filming of Mile 22.

While it’s entirely possible that the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion is in Bogota on a shoot, her fans reckon she’s trying a little too hard to convince us that she’s busy in South America.

It’s been heavily reported that Rousey may be a surprise entrant in Sunday night’s inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble and with her social media activity this week, her followers think that the 30-year-old is attempting to throw us all off the scent.

MMA reporter Jonathan Snowden began circulating the theory that Rousey has been instructed to make her potential WWE appearance as surprising as possible by suggesting that she’s in a different country entirely.

‘Rowdy’ hasn’t competed in the Octagon since she was brutally knocked out by 135lbs queen Amanda Nunes in December 2016 and it’s been reported that she has spent some time training for a career-change under current WWE superstar Brian Kendrick.

She famously appeared at Wrestlemania 31 in 2015, when she showed off her Judo prowess against both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Rousey also appeared at a taping of a preliminary match for the Mae Young Classic, in which close friend and fellow MMA star Shayna Baszler competed.

She even featured as part of a storyline, when she exchanged words with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bailey.

Legendary WWE commentator Jim Ross recently insisted that ‘Rowdy’ moving to the WWE would be something of a no-brainer.

“It’s too great an opportunity for her to pass up and WWE to pass up. It’s a match made in heaven,” Ross told TMZ . “She’s gonna be a big star. It’s inevitable. I see her in a WrestleMania someday.”

Further credence was given to suggestions that Rousey will appear at the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia when WWE legend Kurt Angle posted the below photograph to Instagram.

Angle’s followers believed they could see Rousey in the background of the image, which was put together to promote the event.

Rousey could well be on a film set in Colombia but fans aren’t so sure.
