United eye Firmino

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino, according to the Metro.

Liverpool have also been linked with the £20m-rated Brazilian, but it’s reported that Louis van Gaal has put Firmino at the top of his wish list as he prepares to send Radamel Falcao back to Monaco.

Firmino has scored six goals and claimed seven assists in the Bundesliga this season and would surely jump at the chance to move to Old Trafford.

Liverpool chase Vietto

The Metro also bring us the news that Liverpool have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Luciano Vietto.

According to the 21-year-old’s agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, the Villarreal forward is ready to leave in the summer after hitting an impressive 18 goals in 39 matches.

“He might leave in the summer. It is normal that the best clubs in the world are after him,’ said Cyterszpiler.

“If big clubs make an offer, we need to talk. The offer must be very good, not only for us but also for Villarreal.”

Arsenal want another Chilean

Specifically Charles Aranguiz, who starred alongside Alexis Sanchez at last year’s World Cup.

The Mirror report that Arsene Wenger has been scouting Aranguiz since spotting him in Brazil and is considering a bid at the end of the season.

It’s thought the 25-year-old is available for around £5.5m and would easily obtain a work permit.
