Joachim Low is, regrettably, at it again as Germany lose to England

A fitting way to mark his last game as Germany boss

And, just like that, Joachim Low’s stint as Germany manager is over.

A 2-0 defeat by England at Wembley saw Die Mannschaft dumped out of Euro 2020, bringing down the curtain on Low’s 14-year run as manager.

So, how will he be remembered? You’d like to think it will be as the guy that made Germany a force again – taking them all the way to World Cup glory in Brazil in 2014 the obvious highlight.

But nah. Unfortunately for him, Low will almost certainly be remembered as the guy who scratched and sniffed on the sideline that time, went mega viral as a result and ended up issuing an apology for it.

Fittingly, then, that his final match in charge of the German team should be marked by a similarly unfortunate incident.

As England edged closer to victory, the cameras briefly cut to Low, who appeared deep in thought as he stared at the pitch, simultaneously rummaging around in his nostril. Then, very quickly, his finger slipped out and into his nostril.

Social media, quite predictably, was all over it…
