'I don't know Jeff'

Since then, it's no exaggeration to say that these words - and the entire chaotic minute that ensued - have gone down as one of the most iconic moments in Premier League history.

Working as a reporter for Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday, Kamara was covering the Premier League game between Portsmouth and Blackburn.

When host Stelling was informed someone had been sent off in the game, he said: "We're off to Fratton Park where there's been a red card but for who Chris Kamara?"

Queue a very confused Kammy responding: "I don't know Jeff, has there?"

The rest is history. In a hilarious exchange between Kammy and Jeff, it transpired that the pundit had completely missed the ref sending off Portsmouth's Anthony Vanden Borre.

So when he saw the Pompey man walking off the pitch, Kammy had assumed he was simply being subbed off.

The Soccer Saturday moment has gone down in English football folklore, and the words "There's been a red card but for who Chris Kamara" and "I don't know Jeff" are still regularly quoted by football fans to this day.

Back in 2019, Kammy spoke to JOE about the moment and how exactly he managed to miss a player being sent off.

Of course, this was just one of many brilliant moments the former footballer provided viewers with on Soccer Saturday.

He eventually left Soccer Saturday at the end of the 2021-22 season, having worked on the programme for 24 years.
