I mean, yes, the United Kingdom's death toll is still severalfold worse than the rest of Europe and we have seemingly given up on lockdown having made little to no progress in containing the virus. And yes, the Premier League is being prioritised due to the monstrous amount of money on the line if it didn't fulfil its broadcast obligations. And yes, it won't be the same. Watching Burnley vs Watford at 6pm on a Thursday on Sky in an empty stadium on a hot, June evening will not feel like the usual Premier League experience.
But let's not pretend we're not excited. Let's not pretend that when Martin Tyler shouts, "And it's LIIIIIIVE," and the roar of the crowd is replaced by Oliver Norwood shouting "straight in lads!" it's not going to be the happiest we've all felt since February.
