New York mayor Bill de Blasio has Sadiq Khan’s back over those Donald Trump tweets

"President Trump's attack on him is unacceptable."

Following the horrific events in London at the weekend, Donald Trump thought it would a good time to have a pop at London mayor Sadiq Khan. Despite first tweeting "Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U.K., we will be there,” not long after he decided to go after Kahn, saying: "At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is "no reason to be alarmed!’"

What Trump failed to take into account - or deliberately ignored - was that Khan’s comments about there being “no reason to alarmed” was actually in relation to the increase in armed police protecting Londoners.

And when this started to be pointed out, Trump went and somehow blamed the ‘mainstream media’ again.

Now however, Trump has been condemned by New York mayor Bill de Blasio, who says that Khan is doing an “extraordinary job”.

And several people have pointed out that the New York mayor has been quicker to defend Kahn than the UK’s own Prime Minister.
