The Prime Minister says she is 'absolutely committed' to supporting people affected by the fire
Last night's BRITs witnessed one of British music's most iconic moments. After scooping two awards Stormzy delivered a damning political freestyle, simultaneously attacking Theresa May's handling of the Grenfell Tower fire and the Daily Mail.
The grime king rapped: “Like yo Theresa May where’s the money for Grenfell? What you thought we just forgot about Grenfell? You criminals, and you got the cheek to call us savages, You should do some jail time, you should pay some damages, we should burn your house down and see if you can manage this.”
In reference to the Daily Mail, he said: "suck my dick."
Responding to Big Mike's criticism a spokesperson for Theresa May said: "The Prime Minister has been very clear that Grenfell is an unimaginable tragedy that should never be allowed to happen again.
"The public inquiry was set up by the Prime Minister to establish what went so tragically wrong and why people weren’t listened to for so many years.
"She has met with the families and survivors on a number of occasions."
They said £58.9million had been allocated for dealing with the aftermath of the blaze.
Shortly after collecting his awards, Stormzy was tweeted congratulations by Jeremy Corbyn.

It's not the first time Stormzy has used a stage to criticise the government's response to the fire at Grenfell Tower, having previously brutalised Theresa May during his slot at Glastonbury in 2017.
